Privacy Policy

What we collect

If you join the newsletter, we store the name and email address you give us. If you buy a book, we store the email address you enter at checkout along with a record of the purchase — the book, the amount, the currency, and the date.

We do not receive or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.

How we use it

• To deliver the book you paid for, and to reissue a download link if one fails.
• To answer support requests and process refunds.
• To send the newsletter, if you asked for it.
• To keep records of sales, as required for tax and accounting.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

Running the store means a few trusted providers process data on our behalf:

• Stripe — payment processing and tax calculation.
• Supabase — database and file storage.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• An email provider — sending download links and the newsletter.

Some of these store data outside Canada. Each is bound by its own privacy commitments.

How long we keep it

Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Download links expire after a few days and can be revoked sooner. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

The public site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Stripe sets cookies during checkout to process your payment securely. Signing in to the admin area sets a session cookie.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email kevin@howtoprincipal.com and we'll respond. Note that we may need to retain purchase records even after a deletion request, where the law requires it.
